Yanmar announces a large presence at Nor-Shipping

The event represents a unique chance to meet some of the top engine specialists
Yanmar Company Limited is also exhibiting in the Japanese Pavilion

Yanmar Europe and Yanmar Norge will be attending Nor-Shipping with a variety of engines and technical experts on hand to answer questions about the range. Many of those attending hardly ever visit Europe, so this will make for an unusual opportunity for buyers to ask about the in-depth technical aspects. For anyone placing an order at the show there is a limited special free gift (a Yanmar snow blower).

The company will be taking pride of place in two locations, with representatives from Yanmar Europe and Yanmar Norge in Hall B with the commercial marine and high speed engines, while staff from Yanmar Company Limited will be on hand in the Japanese Pavilion to discuss the medium speed engines and user’s business requirements generally. For the marine engines in Hall B, taking centre stage will be the 6AYEM-GT 20 litre common rail unit. This in-line turbocharged and charge air-cooled diesel is available in ratings from 485kW continuous to 749kW maximum at 1,840 to 2,000 rpm. It offers high torque throughout the rev range, combined with low emissions, low noise and low smoke, all thanks to the careful design of the multi-point injectors and combustion chamber. Installation is improved due to the compact footprint and easy access to dials and maintenance items. For those needing an outboard, consider the new D-Torque 111 Common Rail Turbo Diesel. With an 800cc, 50hp twin-cylinder design featuring an innovative dual counter-rotating crank system to offer unrivalled smoothness, it delivers a whopping 111Nm at 2,500rpm, that’s more than the best-performing 70hp fuel injected four-stroke gasoline outboards on the market today. The outboard was developed by Neander Motors and will be distributed by YMI.

Another engine of interest to marine operators is the dual-fuel 6EY26DF. This super efficient, low emission engine can be switched from diesel to liquefied natural gas (LNG) even under load, offering an effortless solution to passing Tier 3 regulations. Sophisticated air-flow and anti-knock technology offers a seamless transition, and when running on the LPG combustion is initiated by a pilot injection. When compared to the same class EY26 diesel engine, the design offers significant emissions reductions including 84% less NOx, 25% less CO2, and a staggering 99% less SOx. View these engines at the Japanese Pavilion with the specialists there. Also on display will be the 6CXBM (high speed propulsion engine), the 6LY440 (light duty commercial) and the popular 13.7 litre 6HYM propulsion engine, to be presented at the stand of Yanmar’s service agent, Maritim Motor AS. Morten-Erik Haugen, Sales Manager Commercial High Speed Diesel Engines for Yanmar Norge AS says, “Our marine engine range is going from strength to strength. We’ve just signed our latest contract, with Ellfisk AS to supply a 6EY17W for a 21 meter long vessel designed by Skogsøy Båt AS.

We’re really looking forward to Nor-Shipping this year, and following on from the success of the Lofotfishing exhibition we reckon the snow blower could receive as much attention as the engines.”   Nor-Shipping takes place in Oslo from May 30th-June 2nd. Yanmar will be in Hall B on Stand B01-09 & in the Japanese Pavilion on Stand B02-08.
