Almere, August 2021 – After a long period of pandemic travel restrictions, YANMAR will be present at Aqua Nor 2021 in Trondheim, Norway. YANMAR is known for its vast range of clean, low-fuel, low-emission marine diesel engines varying in power from 9 to 4,500 kW. We will co-exhibit with Maritim Motor AS, our marine commercial dealer in Norway. Visitors can find us at booth nr. A1-200.

The Norwegian market for aquaculture and fisheries is important for YANMAR. YANMAR powers Ship of the Year Ro Vision

YANMAR is strongly expanding its foothold in Norway, powering new, often highly innovative vessels. A good example is the build of Ro Vision, which was awarded Ship of the Year 2020 by Skipsrevyen magazine. This first hybrid propulsion well-boat ever was developed with a strong focus on increased safety and lower emissions. YANMAR is a proud contributor to the success of this ship by delivering three YANMAR 6EY22ALW diesel generators, powering both the supporting systems onboard for the life fish and the electrical propulsion system to ensure safe navigation.

For Jarle Gunnarstein CEO of Larsnes Mek Verksted, where Ro Vision was built, YANMAR is the undisputed choice when it comes to marine engines, both for propulsion engines and auxiliary engines. “YANMAR engines are easy to install and accessible for maintenance. Moreover, they are economical, have low emissions and a long lifespan, which is often a decisive factor for our customers, such as ship owners and designers." 

The latest vessel Ro Sailor built by Larsnes Mek Verksted is again powered by YANMAR’s reliable electrical propulsion system. Ro Sailor is the ninth (9) in the series of vessels developed between Skipskompetanse AS (design), Larsnes (yard) and Rostein (owner). The vessel is equipped for open and closed transport of harvested fish and smolts, but also has many other capacities, including freshwater production and freshwater treatment of salmon.
